Youth Engagement in Snohomish County

Last Friday the United Way of Snohomish County Youth United program hosted one of our biggest events on record – the Holiday Card Making Party (and Tocqueville Society donor cards). In just three short hours, teen volunteers created a whopping 418 holiday cards! Some of these cards will be used to thank our Tocqueville donors at a special event, while the majority of the cards will go into holiday food baskets distributed at the Everett Food Bank. This event was the largest event ever hosted at United Way of Snohomish County, and the second largest Youth United event!

Half of the participants were repeat volunteers, meaning teens are not only getting engaged in our community through volunteerism, they are STAYING engaged! Some highlights from our feedback forms:

“The workers are really nice and they make you smile.”
“LOVE LOVE LOVE volunteering straight at the United Way headquarters!”
“I love coming here”
“I’m excited to volunteer again with Youth United”

Thank you to all of the staff that made this event such a success. You all have done your part to help take this program to the next level.
